We Don’t Wear No Stinkin’ Ties
Enough with the stuffy, snooty, high-end, big budget office spaces! Let’s take it down a few notches and keep it real. This is Thumbtack and their simple, but, oh so awesomely, sweet office.
Thumbtack is an online marketplace for local services that help small businesses and independent professionals easily market themselves online. Their office and workstations are located in a converted old industrial building in downtown San Francisco.
The space was once a foundry, then a photography studio that specialized in food and kitchen photography hence the beautiful centrally located, open kitchen. Having the kitchen positioned this way gives the office a heart, which gives the office a very warm, homey and cozy feel.
What I love about the space, after the kitchen, is the hodgepodge of different types of furniture and styles to create something so unique to Thumbtack. The exposed wood beams, brick walls, couches, coffee tables, and lamps create such a pleasant and laid back environment. It looks more lived in and loved than most other offices. It’s excellent.
